SACRAMENTO -- A woman has been arrested for allegedly setting a fire behind the Sacramento Ford on North 16th Street today.

A witness told investigators that he saw a woman start the fire this afternoon and pointed them in the right direction.

Witnesses gave investigators a name, a description and said the woman had a ligher in her hand, Sac City Fire Assistant Chief Niko King said. Officers found the individual who matched the description a few blocks away, and she still had a lighter in her hand.

King says information given to them by KFBK let them know they were searching for a female suspect that was seen near the fires along the American River.

Sacramento Police have arrested the woman in connection with today's fire, Sacramento Police Spokesman Officer Doug Morse said. Arson investigators are also questioning her about other fires, including the 100 acre blaze that burned last Thursday along Highway 16.
