Attorney General Kamala Harris has shut down ten fake Obamacare websites.
The attorney general's office says the sites were all being run by private insurance brokers or companies that were posing as Covered California and selling plans on the idividual market -- plans that didn't qualify for federal subsidies or have protections in place for pre-existing conditions.
There were websites such as Californiabenefitexchange.com, californiahealthbenefitexchange.com, coveredcalifornia.com," Special Assistant Attorney General Jill Habig, said.
The officials exchange is at CoveredCA.com. Habig says customers should also watch out for telephone solicitors claiming to work for the government.
