SACRAMENTO -- Law enforcement and emergency management officials want to make sure you're ready in case of disaster, so CalEMA is hosting it's 5th annual California Day of Preparedness event tomorrow in Old Sacramento.

It's a great opportunity to learn how to be prepared for an emergency.

"You're gonna learn how to out a first aid kit together. You're gonna learn who your resources that are out there that you can work with on a regular basis," Spokeswoman Lori Newquist said.

Newquist says you'll have the opportunity to personally visit with emergency experts from the CHP, Cal FIRE and the Drowning and Accident Rescue Team:

"You'll be able to actually go inside some of the fire engines, some of the vehicles, take a look at the equipment and see some demonstrations..." she said.

The Sacramento Sheriff's Search and Rescue team will offer a K-9 demonstration and one of the fire engines that's just returned from battling the Rim Fire will be on display.
