California Legislature Eyes Early 2014 Schedule

The California Legislature is weeks away from getting down to business again, but some lawmakers are already working on new laws for guns and oil.  Among the major bills that'll be considered by the California Legislature starting in January is one sponsored by Senator Kevin DeLeon, a Democrat from Los Angeles.  He wants to ban the making, selling or buying of "ghost guns" like the new plastic guns made with 3D-printers,

"...and last week congress refused to update the law and address this emerging threat," said DeLeon.

This is the reason he hopes to work with the National Rifle Association to develop the proposed law.  At the same time, Democratic Senators Noreen Evans and Mark DeSaulnier are talking about taxing oil pumped in California with a portion of said tax used to lower tuition at California universities.
