The county cororer says crystal meth, rather than excessive force, is to blame for the death of a man taken into police custody back in May.

Sacramento Police were called to the Metro PCS store on Folsom Boulevard May 24th to deal with the man, who then began to fight with them.

Neither a baton nor pepper spray slowed him down. While resisting arrest he overpowered one of the officers.

Police eventually got him in handcuffs and then noticed he was unresponsive.

He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

The coroner says the man died due to methamphetamine-induced excited delirium, with no obvious signs of trauma to the body.
