It looks as though demolition of the Downtown Plaza could begin as early as tomorrow.
There is paint on the sidewalk indicating the location of critical utilities.
At area bus stops, notices have been posted informing riders of route changes.
City officials and the Sacramento Kings haven't made any official announcements yet.
The Downtown Plaza will remain partly intact, but much will be removed to make room for the new entertainment and sports complex the Kings will call home.
When work does begin, it will be six days a week from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
