Demonstrators Protest President of Mexico's Visit to Sacramento

The President of Mexico is in Sacramento today, capping off a two-day tour. His visit, is not without some controversy.

Enrique Peña Nieto was greeted at the Stanford Mansion by about 150 flag-waving protesters, demanding the release of Andrew Tahmooressi, a soldier who's been in a Tijuana jail since April after crossing the border with weapons.

"You know what, there's a great opportunity of Governor Brown to act presidential, all he's got to do is ask to release our Marine," Republican Assemblyman Tim Donnelly said.

Donnelly declined an invite to a luncheon honoring Peña to lead the protesters.

There were times you could hear the shouting across the street, until the toasts.

The president applauded Brown for recognizing the "human rights" of immigrants, documented or not.

Brown said it makes sense that California was Peña's first visit to the U.S.
