SACRAMENTO -- Frequent fliers will soon have an easier time moving through Sacramento International Airport.

Sacramento International Airport is one of the 60 airports the TSA is expanding the pre-check program to. That means those enrolled will get to skip some security precautions.

Those who qualify for the program are usually frequent fliers who have been invited by the airlines to participate, according to Laurie Slothower with the Sacramento County Department of Airports.

If approved, passengers will not have to remove shoes or belts, and they won't have to take liquids out of carry-on luggage.

Most of the airlines in Sacramento are participating.

"American, Alaska in Hawaiian in Terminal B. And Delta, United and U.S. Airways in Terminal A," she said.

She says Southwest and Jet Blue are also looking into the program -- we should see it at Sacramento International by the end of the year.
