Is Senate President Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg looking at City Hall for his next place of employment when he's termed out in November?
Well, KFBK asked him that question when he joined us on the Morning News and he said.
"You know, I'm not looking back yet. Or even forward to the next step. I really want to end my Senate tenure on a high note, and there's a lot of work to do," he said.
"On the drought, on climate change, on criminal justice policy, I'm authoring the big pre-kindergarten bill to make universal preschool a required offer for every 4-year-old in California," Steinberg said.
But speculation is running high that he wants to lead the city into the future with his adept political skills.
However, when pressed again, he maintained his political smile, telling KFBK:
"The future will be the future. Kevin Johnson is doing a very good job as mayor," he said.
