Woodland Police have shot and killed a man who allegedly charged at officers with a knife.

Sgt. Brett Hancock says a disturbance call came in around 5:50 a.m. from the College Manor Apartments on Elliot Street.

"They contacted the individual that was yelling, and he had a knife. He charged one of the officers and that officer shot and killed him," Hancock said.

We don't yet have a description of that man, and it's unclear how many times the officers fired or if there were any witnesses.

The Davis Police Department will be handling the investigation into the shooting and the Yolo County Sheriff's Department is filling in for patrol units who were involved.
