A year after the passage of Prop 30, Democratic Assemblyman Dr. Richard Pan helped introduce a coalition of Californian's dedicated to reform, called "Take Back U-C,"

"The University of California not only educates our youth.  It's also a place where people innovate, do research, and create new ideas."

Republican Senator Anthony Canella says, if it's to stay that way, pension reform that's been applied to other instiutions should be applied to UC administrators as well,

"No public institution that receives tax payer dollars should be shelling out six figure annual pension payments to its highest paid employees."

Senator Canella says those resources would be more effectively spent holding down tuition, offering more scholarships and improving patient care.
