Malaysia's government has sent diplomatic cables to all countries in the search area for a jetliner missing now for more than a week. The search has already involved 26 countries. Meanwhile, officials now say the final voice transmission from the cockpit of the missing Malaysian plane may have occurred before any of its communications systems were disabled.

The search for the plane has gotten more difficult with the realization that it might have flown off-course for hours. CBS News correspondent Seth Doane has more from Kuala Lumpur:

'The search is focusing on two corridors - giant archs - that extend all the way from - in the northern arch - Northern Thailand up through Western China into Kazakhstan and in the south, down from Malaysia through Indonesia and well into the very deep Southern Indian Ocean.'
