The Sacramento region is under an extreme heat caution today.
Forecasters say temperatures could soar to a sizzling 107 degrees.
The California Office of Traffic Safety reminds you that a car's internal temperature can skyrocket and reach well above 110 degrees in just a few minutes.
They want to remind you to never leave a child or pet in a car for even a few minutes. They suggest you develop a routine to always check the front and back seat of your vehicle before leaving and locking it.
Also, because extreme heat like today's can cause hypothermia, you can't drink enough water. Make sure you are hydrating throughout the day.
