The music industry is turning its attention to the New York-New Jersey area as it prepares for next month's Super Bowl at MetLife Stadium.

On Wednesday, VH1 announced a set of six concerts being organized for a special series called the "Super Bowl Blitz."  The concert series will kick off on January 27th with a show from J. Cole at Queens College, and extend to the other four boroughs and New Jersey in the days leading up to the game.

Janelle Monae has been tapped to perform at Lehman College in the Bronx and TLC will be performing at Manhattan's Beacon Theater.

Fall Out Boy and Goo Goo Dolls will host concerts in Brooklyn and Staten Island, respectively.  And Gavin DeGraw is set to close the series at the Wellmont Theater in Montclair, New Jersey.

Every concert will air live on VH1 starting at 11 p.m. Eastern.  They will also be streamed on the network's website.
