This is the story of an incredible family who stuck together and persevered through unimaginable loss.
In 2016, Anita and Eric Miron were ecstatic to learn they were pregnant with their second child, Jack. Their daughter would finally have a little brother.
Everything was going smoothly until their 20-week scan. Doctors diagnosed Jack with Down syndrome while he was still in the womb.
The couple accepted Jack’s unexpected diagnosis and were ready to meet him with open hearts and minds… but then tragedy struck.
Jack died in the womb from an umbilical cord accident. Anita gave birth to her stillborn son.
Months later, just as Anita and Eric were piecing their lives back together, they learned they were pregnant with another boy, William. But at their five-month checkup, their worst fear repeated itself; another baby with no heartbeat and another induced labor.
Anita was sick of the pain and heartache and was ready move on. “I wanted to be done being pregnant,” she told WZZM. Since they were still desperate to have another baby, she and Eric began looking toward adoption.
Anita and Eric applied to adopt several children, but were not selected. They prepared themselves for yet another frustrating and gut-wrenching experience. But in June 2017, everything changed.
Anita checked her Facebook and noticed a friend sent her a link that read, “Baby Z needs a home.”
At first, she thought it was some kind of scam… but while scrolling through the photos of this tiny “Baby Z,” she looked at him and realized he was 100% real. And what happened next is truly something magical.
