BIG AL MOVIE PICKS: Turtles, Storms and Indian Food?

Big Al talked to Amy Lewis during the KFBK Morning Show and talked movies this weekend:

 TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES

 WHAT'S IT ABOUT? A reboot of the popular series sees the four turtle brothers again battling Shredder and his evil Foot Clan.

 WHO'S IN IT? Megan Fox, Will Arnett, William Fichtner, Johnny Knoxville (voice), Tony Shalhoub (voice) 

 DID YOU KNOW?: Megan Fox reportedly had to personally apologize to producer Michael Bayto get the role of April O'Neil. Bay famously fired her from Transformers: Dark of the Moon after she compared him to Hitler. 

Jessica Biel had expressed interest in playing April.

There have been four other Ninja Turtle films, most recently TMNT in 2007. The Ninja Turtles began as a comic book series created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird. It ran from 1984 to 2010.

WHAT'S IT ABOUT? A group of high school students documents the events and aftermath of a devastating tornado.

WHO'S IN IT? Richard Armitage, Sarah Wayne Callies, Matt Walsh, Jeremy Sumpter

DID YOU KNOW?:

Filmed mainly in Detroit.Originally titled the title Black Sky. Extras on set often broke out into song in between takes to raise the spirits of those who were wet and tired. A favorite was the Styx classic "Come Sail Away."

 

 

BG AL'S SLEEPER PICK: THE ONE HUNDRED FOOT JOURNEY

The Oprah Winfrey - Stephen Spielberg produced movie centers around an Indian family who moves to France and opens a restaurant right across the street from a well-known high caliber French restaurant, much to the shock of it's owner, played by Dame Helen Mirren.
