WHAT'S IT ABOUT? Two pals impersonate cops and get caught up with real-life mobsters and dirty detectives.

WHO'S IN IT? Jake Johnson, Damon Wayans Jr.

DID YOU KNOW?: The movie opened on Wednesday. Jake Johnson and Damon Wayans Junior also star in the FOX series New Girl. Damon Wayans Junior's first movie appearance was in 1994's Blankman, starring his father. The film was directed by Luke Greenfield, who has also helmed Something BorrowedThe Girl Next Door and The Animal.


THE GIVER (Fantasy Drama)

WHAT'S IT ABOUT? In a seeming utopia, a boy learns the dark and deadly truths of his community's secret past.

WHO'S IN IT? Jeff Bridges, Meryl Streep, Taylor Swift, Brenton Thwaites, Katie Holmes

DID YOU KNOW: Based on the 1993 children's novel by Lois Lowry. Jeff Bridges had to adapt the movie since the '90s. He wanted his father, Lloyd Bridges, to play The Giver, which is the role he now plays. Taylor Swift was offered a small role in the film a week after one of the filmmakers attended her Los Angeles concert.


WHAT'S IT ABOUT? The Expendables' old co-founder, played by Mel Gibson, tries to destroy the mercenary group, led by Sylvester Stallone.

WHO'S IN IT?  Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Terry Crews, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Wesley Snipes, Antonio Banderas, Mel Gibson, Harrison Ford, Kelsey Grammer, Kellan Lutz, Ronda Rousey

DID YOU KNOW?: Stallone says he wants to make an all-female version called Expendabelles and he wants Sigourney Weaver to play his wife. Bruce Willis left the film after he demanded to get paid $1 million per day for a four-day shoot. Mel Gibson was asked to direct the film, but he declined. Steven Seagal refused a role in the movie.
