The NBA legend made the revelation in the book titled Michael Jordan: The Life written by Roland Lazenby. He explains while growing up in North Carolina, race was always an issue and he often dealt with racism. He recalls one particular day when a young girl called him the N-word and he responded by throwing a soda at her. He says, "I was really rebelling. I considered myself a racist at the time. Basically, I was against all white people.” Jordan credits his mother with changing his views on race, saying she taught him that he can't go through life consumed by hatred.
