The stars showed up in abundance for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala last night.
A who’s who list of Hollywood glitterati including Sarah Jessica Parker, Zoe Saldana, Rihanna, Beyoncé, and Jay-Z showed up to honor British designer Charles James. According to the New York Times, ball gowns, leg slits, white ties and trains were the order of the night.
One person who didn’t show up was Madonna. According to Us Weekly, she didn’t come to the event because Anna Wintour rejected her outfit – posted a picture of herself wearing what appeared to be badges only wrapped around her body, exposing her breasts and pretty much everything else.
The caption read, “What I wanted to wear to Met Ball but Anna said, ‘Not this year!’ So I’m gonna work on music instead! #artforfreedom.”
