A Google Glass user is recovering after he was apparently attacked while wearing the device in San Francisco. Kyle Russell had been wearing the device last Friday while he covered a protest of Google in the city for the website "Business Insider."

Russell says he was walking through the Mission District later Friday evening when a woman ripped the glasses off his head, yelled "Glass" and took off running.  Before he could catch up with her, the woman threw the Google Glass to the ground and destroyed it before fleeing the scene.

Back in February, a woman claimed she was robbed in San Francisco's Haight-Ashbury neighborhood for wearing Google Glass.  Russell believes his incident last week was spurred by the controversy around the gadget that has yet to go on sale to the general public.  Some people have claimed items such as Google Glass raise privacy issues, among other complaints.
