New York City Lyft Passenger Threatens Driver, Steals His Car

Police are searching for a Lyft passenger who threatened the driver and then stole his car in the early morning hours of April 3rd. According to the Brooklyn Paper, the unidentified passenger threatened the driver for refusing to follow his directions to his home in Park Slope, Brooklyn. The driver got so scared he pulled over and jumped out of his car, hoping to calm down the situation.

Eventually the passenger shouted “I’m gonna beat your a--,” and the chauffer decided to leap from the car near Flatbush Avenue, telling police he thought it might diffuse the situation.

Instead, the passenger jumped into the driver's seat of the 2015 Toyota Camry and sped away. Police found the car abandoned on the side of the road about a mile away. They said there was no damage to the vehicle and nothing was missing. Police have not made an arrest in the case, and have not publicly revealed if they have any suspects.
