T.I. & Charlamagne tha God Go To Congress to Continue Work of Nipsey Hussle

Prior to Nipsey Hussle's untimely death, the activist had plans to visit lawmakers to discuss his idea to help funnel investment dollars in his Los Angeles neighborhood as well fight gentrification across the US.

TI and Charlamagne tha God recently made a trip to DC to continue Nip’s work. They met with members of the Congressional Black Caucus for two hours where they discussed their interest in “opportunity zones.” It’s a program created by the 2017 tax bill that offers companies an opportunity to defer or reduce capital gains taxes in exchange for their investment in underserved communities.

Tip also announced a new investment fund called “Our Opportunity.” The plan is for wealthy Black entertainers, celebrities and athletes to invest into their local neighborhoods using the opportunity zone tax incentive, which will lead the charge for economic development. “Nipsey was the founder of the idea to bring everyone together who may individually be able to do great things and make significant impact on their own in their communities,” TI explained. “But for us to come together, we can impact so many more communities and spread our efforts so much wider.”
