Oregon Woman Turns School Buses Into Tiny Homes for Homeless #GoodNews

A few years ago, freelance journalist Julie Atkins lived among homeless people and wrote their stories for a book she’s trying to publish.

And along the way, she was inspired to help them by converting retired school buses into homes for the families.

The converted buses have nice, livable spaces with kitchens and bathrooms, which keeps the families safe -- and allows them to get around and get better jobs.

Through her non-profit group Vehicles for Changes, Julie now gets help from teams of volunteers who remodel the buses into what they call “skoolies,” and get these usable mobile homes to the people who need them most. (Auto Evolution)
