Lifetime is finally respondingto Drea Kelly’s lawsuit threat.
R Kelly’s ex-wife wanted to take legal action against the network for showing her in promos for “Surviving R Kelly Part II: The Reckoning.” While she was part of the original, she’s not taking part in the new one.
“I hope [Drea] feels differently after she sees it, ”Brie Miranda Bryant said. The Lifetime SVP and “Surviving R. Kelly” executive producer went on to say that the clips of Drea in the promo were from “Surviving R. Kelly”
Apparently one of the reasons the ex-Mrs. Kelly is distancing herself from the network has to do with what she calls a lack of aftercare for the survivors that participated. Bryant said that Drea declined to take part in the various support opportunities offered to participants.
