Biden to Charlamagne Tha God: If you're not for me "then you ain't Black"!

Joe Biden was virtually on the iHeart radio morning show, "The Breakfast Club" this morning chatting with host Charlamagne Tha God about his 2020 Presidential run when he said some eyebrow raising comments. Charlamagne invited him on to discuss his campaign, record on racial issues, and his consideration of a black female running mate. For starters Biden decided to elaborate on inmates and what they have in common. In doing so he said the 3 things people in prison have in common: 1) they or their mother was a victim of abuse. 2) They cannot read. 3) They do not have any job skills. Does this sound like a fair assessment to you?

Then, when Biden had to cut the interview short due an appearance his wife, Jill Biden had to make on TV, Charlamagne joked around saying: "You can't do that to black media!" Biden responded saying: "I do that to white media and black media because my wife has to go on at 6 o’clock." Charlamagne wrapped up by saying: “Listen, you’ve got to come see us when you come to New York, Vice President Biden. It’s a long way until November. We’ve got more questions.” Biden then responded in an eyebrow raising way by saying: “You’ve got more questions? Well I tell you what, if you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black.”

What is that supposed to mean? So, in other words if you are a Black individual and you support President Trump, you can't call yourself Black? You can say I'm putting words in his mouth but it sounds an awful lot like that to me...what else are we supposed to take away from that comment? Was it a joke? If so, how is it funny to suggest that all Black people support Biden? It just seemed like an unnecessary comment to me...what do you think?
