Actress Kelly Preston, who starred in films like Twins, Jerry Maguire and For Love of the Game, and who spent the last 29 years married to John Travolta, has passed away at the age of 57. Preston had been quietly fighting breast cancer for the past two years.
"On the morning of July 12, 2020, Kelly Preston, adored wife and mother, passed away following a two-year battle with breast cancer. Choosing to keep her fight private, she had been undergoing medical treatment for some time, supported by her closest family and friends. She was a bright, beautiful and loving soul who cared deeply about others and who brought life to everything she touched. Her family asks for your understanding of their need for privacy at this time."
Along with Travolta, she leaves behind their two children, Ella, age 20, and Benjamin, age 9. In 2009, she and John lost their son, Jett, at the age of 16. She clearly loved her family and her final Instagram post, a family selfie from Father's Day, showed them all happy together.
Kelly was born Kelly Kamalelehua Smith in Honolulu, Hawaii, and after graduating from the University of Southern California with an acting degree, got her first major movie role in 1985's Mischief. She'd go on to appear in dozens of other films and shows. Her final film role was in 2018's Gotti, playing Victoria Gotti, wife of mob boss John Gotti, who was portrayed by Travolta.
