Dan Reynolds has donated his childhood home to a good cause.
The Imagine Dragons singer's generous gift is part of Encircle's "$8 million, 8 Houses" campaign, in an effort to open safe homes for LGBTQ+ youth across Arizona, Idaho, Nevada and Utah. The house, valued at $1 million, will be the non-profit's first center in Nevada. Encircle already has three functional homes in Utah, with a fourth being built.
โEncircle is about bringing young LGBTQ+ people and their families together, by including the community and strengthening the bonds that connect us,โ Reynolds and his wife Aja Volkman said in a statement. โBeing a part of this organization means so much to both of us and we know the house Dan grew up in will be a loving and supportive home to every young LGBTQ+ person who crosses the threshold.โ
โIโve watched throughout my life the difficult path that LGBTQ youth have, especially coming from homes of faith," Reynolds added during a visit to Good Morning America. โNow to know, with my mom and dadโs blessing, I was able to purchase the home for them and itโs going to be the first Encircle home in Las Vegas-thatโs powerful for me.โ
