Last week Tiffany Haddish gave an exclusive to Vanity Fair detailing the Grammyโs asking her to host the 3-hour pre-show for free. They also told Tiffany she would have to pay for her own hair and makeup:
โAll of that would have to come out of my pocket,โ she said, adding, โI donโt know if this might mean I might not get nominated ever again, but I think itโs disrespectful.โ
And for those that are asking why she didnโt just do it for exposer, she said โI was like, โThe exposure is amazing but I think I have enough. I appreciate you guys asking,โ Haddish said. โAnd as much as I appreciate the honor of being nominated, thatโs not okay. This is something that needs to be addressed,โ Haddish said. โHow many other people have they done that to? Itโs like a guy asking you on a date but telling you that you have to pay for it." [source]

Recording Academy interim chief Harvey Mason, jr personally reached out to Tiffany after getting word of what happened and apologized. He also spoke out via his Instagram.
