Congratulations are in order for Rihanna.
Harvard University is honoring her with their 2017 Humanitarian of the Year award. She’s being recognized for allowing students from Caribbean countries to attend college in the US through her Clara and Lionel Foundation Scholarship Program, which is named for RiRi’s grandparents, reports Billboard.
In addition, she supports the Global Partnership for Education and the Global Citizen Project.
As if that weren’t enough, Harvard Foundation’s director S Allen Counter said, “Rihanna has charitably built a state-of- the-art center for oncology and nuclear medicine to diagnose and treat breast cancer at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Bridgetown, Barbados.”
The singer, fashion designer, and philanthropist will accept the Peter J. Gomes Humanitarian Award in Boston on Harvard’s campus next Tuesday.
