An Australian woman recently got engaged and her proposal was a huge surprise, even though she had worn the engagement ring around her neck for more than a year.
The couple had dated for a year when Terry gave Anna a necklace as an anniversary gift. The pendant was handmade out of wood and a ground down shell. Anna loved it and wore every single day for more a year-and-a-half. She had no idea that when Terry had the pendant made, he put an engagement ring inside.
Terry says, "I had always loved the idea of giving someone a gift where they didn’t know its true value until years later."
The couple recently vacationed in Scotland, where they had always talked about wanting to go, so Terry decided it was the perfect place to make the big reveal.
He asked Anna to take off the necklace so he could take photos of it against various backgrounds, and when she wasn't looking, he broke the seal on the pendant.
When he handed it back to her, he knelt down on one knee and opened it to reveal the ring. Anna was shocked and yelled, "Wait … it’s been in there the entire time?!! I could have lost it you idiot!"
