By now, we all have seen or heard about the Fyre Fest disaster that duped people into buying tickets to a Coachella-like festival on a private island in the Bahamas. Well,Ja Rule wants y’all to give him a second shot at creating a similar fest.
In a recent interview, Ja first let it be known he hasn’t watched either of the documentaries. The way he sees it, he “lived it” so he doesn’t have to watch it. “It’s not funny to me, it’s heartbreaking. It’s something that I wanted to be special and amazing. It didn’t turn out that way.” Ja explained. He then opened up about his plans for Fyre Fest 2.0. “In the midst of chaos, there’s opportunity,” he said. “[Fyre] is the most iconic festival that never was. I have plans to create the iconic festival, but you didn’t hear that from me.”
Meanwhile, Ja’s business partner and the man behind the failed music festival, Billy McFarland was found guilty of wire fraud after scamming over 80 investors out of $26 million. He was arrested last fall and sentenced to six years in federal prison.
