Big Al's Weekend Movie Box Office Wrap-Up!

“Crazy Rich Asians” had a successful debut as expected, raking in $25-point-two million for its debut, also scoring the best opening for a rom-com since the Judd Apatow-directed 2015 movie “Trainwreck.” That bumped “The Meg” down to second place with $21-point-two for its second week.

“Mile 22” starring Mark Wahlberg debuted in the third spot with $13-point-6 million, followed by a tie for the fourth spot between the debut of “Alpha” and the fourth week of “Mission: Impossible – Fallout,” both of which racked up $10-point-five this weekend. Spike Lee’s “BlacKkKlansman” is still going strong, earning the seventh spot after making $7 million in its second week compared to its debut with $10-point-eight million.
