Big Al's Weekend Movie Box Office Wrap-Up: The HOUSE Wins!

“The House With A Clock In Its Walls” starring Jack Black and Cate Blanchett had a great debut, raking in $26-point-nine over the weekend and earning the number one spot. “A Simple Favor” did well in the second spot for it’s premiere, though earning less than half as much as number one with $10-point-four million.

 

“The Nun” is still going strong in the third spot, making $10-point-3 this weekend and crossing the $100 million mark domestically in its third week. “Crazy Rich Asians” is also proving to stay a box office hit, making $6-point-five million and earning the fifth spot.

Meanwhile, Michael Moore’s latest documentary effort “Fahrenheit 11/9” flopped for its debut over the weekend, earning the eighth spot with $3-point-one million. Another debut, “White Boy Rick” didn’t tanka s hard, earning the sixth spot with $5 million. Other newcomers like “Assassination Nation” and “Life Itself” didn’t make it to the top ten.
