The music of Prince will be the inspiration for an original movie from Universal Pictures. The studio has acquired the rights to some of the singerโs classic tunes, which will be used to inspire a fictional plotline.
Fans hoping for a biopic will not get one with this film. In fact, the studio and the estate didnโt go that route because they felt the singerโs life story was covered in 1984โs โPurple Rain.โ
The studio hopes the film will be something similar to โMamma Mia,โ with the music helping drive the narrative.
