Two weeks from today, a record 830 local nonprofits in the capital area will rally generous people to support charitable causes during this year’s Big Day of Giving, the annual movement to strengthen the local nonprofit sector that has raised $91 million since 2013. This year, the team behind Big Day of Giving at the Sacramento Region Community Foundation (Foundation) hopes to surpass $100 million in total funds raised since the giving day’s inception.

Starting today, community members interested in giving can donate early gifts of $10 or more at bigdayofgiving.org, or they can wait until Big Day of Giving on Thursday, May 2, to support their favorite organizations.

Nonprofits serving El Dorado, Placer, Sacramento, and Yolo counties are participating in the effort. Each has a profile at bigdayofgiving.org, which features the ability to search and filter nonprofits by mission, location, budget size, leadership information, and demographics served.
