Virginia authorities are receiving a dress-down themselves after conducting a strip-search of an 8-year-old child at the Buckingham Correctional Center.
No. The child wasn't sentenced for a crime. She was just visiting her incarcerated father.
Prison authorities initiated the search after a drug dog lingered around the child and her father's visiting girlfriend, who told The Virginian-Pilot that the child asked what a strip-search meant and broke down crying when she told her, "That means you have to take all of your clothes off or you're not going to be able to to see your dad."
