An environmental group is suing to stop the construction of a gondola that will link two major Lake Tahoe ski resorts. The Resource Renewal Institute claims in a lawsuit that an over two-mile gondola between Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows will "desecrate a wilderness sanctuary." The gondola would transport up to 14-hundred people an hour between the two resorts.
The gondola is only part of a project that also includes plans for new roads and a housing development.
So far, neither Squaw Valley or Alpine Meadows representatives are offering comment on the lawsuit.
