Lyft Sued Over Sexual Assault In San Francisco Court

Ride-sharing company Lyft is the target of a sexual assault lawsuit involving 20 female passengers. The suit filed in San Francisco Superior Court on Wednesday makes the claim that Lyft has been negligent in addressing over 100 incidents of sexual assault and rape going back to 2015.

Lyft does not screen, fingerprint, or even fire drivers who are sexual predators, according to complainants. Moreover, Lyft still allegedly fails to report incidents of rape or sexual assault to law enforcement officials, and they have not updated their app to monitor rides with GPS tracking and cameras.

Lyft issued a statement saying they are "continually investing" in safety features for both drivers and passengers.
