Just a day ahead of the 16th year anniversary of her untimely death, MAC Cosmetics announced that they will honor Aaliyah with her very own make-up collection in summer 2018.
On Thursday (August 24), the make-up big-wig announced the news via Instagram, revealing that the late R&B star's collection will arrive in stores next summer. "Aaliyah is truly one in a million — an unstoppable icon whose groundbreaking work in R&B music and film inspires us all," the caption of the social media post reads. "Today we join her countless fans in celebrating her with the announcement of the M·A·C Aaliyah collection. You made it happen! Stay tuned in 2018."
Baby Girl's line follows the widely successful Selena x M.A.C. collection, which dropped in 2016. After seeing the success of the late Tejano singer's line, Aaliyah fans gathered together to petition for a MAC line inspired by the R&B princess. After almost 27,000 signatures, it's almost a reality.
