UPDATE - 5:40 AM PT -- according to TMZ, Nelly's attorney, Scott Rosenblum, fired back at Koehler, "I would suggest rereading the [intimidating a witness] statute. I would further suggest talking to some of the unbiased witnesses."
Further, Rosenblum tells TMZ ... "Nelly will continue to respond to her client's baseless allegations."
Looks like this thing with Nelly is going to get better before it gets worse. Now the woman who has accused him of rape is also saying that he’s been engaged in some criminal-level bullying in the media – and she wants justice.
Karen Koehler, the alleged victim’s lawyer, says that Nelly sent a letter to prosecutors laying out what she views as verbal attacks made by Nelly’s team made against her client. Karen responded with, “It is morally reprehensible for an accused person and his bully lawyer to issue derogatory and defamatory statements against a young alleged rape victim.” She added, “It is also criminal – in the State of Washington – when those vicious attacks are issued in the form of threats.” She was particularly peeved by Nelly saying that her client was “a person with an agenda and clearly she has one. The agenda is money, fame, and notoriety.” She also included the legal statutes regarding witness intimidation. In Washington, it’s a class B felony.
Nelly’s lawyer, Scott Rosenblum, fired a letter back to Koehler suggesting she re-read the witness intimidation statutes and talk to some unbiased witnesses. He added, “Nelly will continue to respond to her client’s baseless allegations.”
- ONE MORE THING! Whether the rape allegations are true or not, Nelly’s girlfriend is sticking by his side. Shantel Jackson posted a picture of the two of them and captioned it with their zodiac signs – Leo and Scorpio. She also promo’d “The Platinum Life,” a reality show that features the two of them.
