See, they are trying to get that Super Bowl money! Even Paisley Park is getting in on the action!
The management of Prince's Paisley Park is asking the local council for permission to serve alcohol.
The compound, which has drawn 200,000 fans since opening to the public, has not previously applied for such a permit. But with the Twin Cities hosting the Super Bowl in February, Paisley Park wants to cash in on the private party business. The request for a special permit is to accommodate cocktail parties for between 500 to 1,000 guests.
Mayor Denny Laufenberger says his city of Chanhassen is "concerned about public safety. We're concerned about responsible distribution of alcohol." The plan also drew a negative response on social media because some fans say Prince didn't allow alcohol at public events at Paisley Park.
Chanhasen's planning commission will hold a hearing on the request next Tuesday, with a vote by the full council expected on December 11th.
