After Betty Vitaleโs daughter died in a car accident in 1996, she was devastated. But she wanted something positive to come from the tragedy, so she decided to create Tammiโs Closet, a donation service that provides free prom dresses to those who couldnโt afford one otherwise.
The first year Tammiโs Closet was running, they donated 17 dresses. Last year, they were up to 257! And thanks to donations, Betty now has more than 900 dresses to give away to teens in the New England area in need of a fancy frock for prom.
