A 66-year-old woman who has become known as the "Serial Stowaway" for her history of sneaking onto airplanes without paying, was arrested again Sunday for trespassing at Chicago's O'Hare Airport.
Marilyn Hartman has already been banned from several airports around the country, including O'Hare, but was spotted in the private plane area of the airport. An employee questioned her and asked her to leave, but she took off running. Authorities eventually captured her inside the international terminal and placed her under arrest. Just two weeks ago, authorities say Hartman was somehow able to slip past security without a boarding pass or passport and eventually got onto a British Airways flight to London. Once she arrived there, police put her on a return flight back to Chicago where she was arrested and charged with theft and trespassing.
Hartman has been trespassing at airports for several years. In 2014, she got onto a Southwest Airlines flight from San Jose to Los Angeles without a boarding pass. She's been arrested multiple times since then at other airports in California as well as Phoenix and Minneapolis. In 2016 she was ordered to serve six months under house arrest and also undergo two years of mental treatment. She's due back in court on Thursday.
