Felicia Allen and Flossie Crump were sworn into the Sacramento Police Department back in the 1970s.
The former officers made history for not only being the first women on patrol, but also the first black women, which came with added challenges.
Next week, Allen and Crump will be honored for their dedication. The department is naming the headquarters’ atrium after the two women. The dedication ceremony is Feb. 8 at 3:30 p.m. at the Sacramento Police Headquarters on Freeport Boulevard.
