Russell Simmons claims that a woman accusing him of sexual assault sent him loving texts and nudes after the alleged rape. According to newly filed court papers, Simmons claims the he and Jennifer Jarosik had a casual, consensual relationship for over a decade that occasionally included sex.
Of course, she says everything was great until 2016 - when he came onto her, she declined...and then he forced himself on her. But the way Russell’s lawyer sees it, Jennifer is just out for money - and only accused him once she heard that women were able to “recover money for real abuse by sexual predators.”
The attorney also claims - without offering proof - that Jennifer has been found by a court to have a “propensity to exaggerate” and to suffer from “untreated mental health issues.” Russell just calls her claims “complete fiction.”
- But that's not all - Russell's lawyer says Jennifer's crazy makes her a bad mother. And also wraps up her accusations in the #metoo movement. "Mr. Simmons occasionally offered encouragement to Ms. Jarosik, offered to contribute a few thousand dollars to one project, and once asked a friend of his who was a documentary film-maker to help her with a documentary project," the court papers offer. "In the wake of the #metoo movement, Ms. Jarosik alleged that Mr. Simmons raped her, but in exchange for funding her film project, she would help him restore his 'image' with women."
- In recent months, more than a dozen women have come forward with allegations against Simmons. In March, an unidentified woman filed a $10 million lawsuit against the entrepreneur accusing him of rape.
