The congregation of Covenant Church in Carrollton, Texas got some good news during their Easter service. Pastor Stephen Hayes announced that they were able to pay off medical debt for more than 4,000 local families, starting with veterans who are suffering from war injuries.
After every vet in a 20-mile radius of the church’s campuses was covered, the remaining money helped relieve debt for other families, 4,229 in all. The church used the $100,000 they normally spend to promote Easter services for the cause and with the congregation, they ended up paying off $10,551,618 in medical debt.
