More details are being learned about the Golden State Killer suspect Joseph James DeAngelo who was arrested yesterday in Sacramento.
A DNA match led investigators to finally solve the longtime cold case and arrest the 72-year-old former cop who is accused of as many as 12 murders, 50 rapes and more than 120 home burglaries between 1976 and 1986.
DeAngelo's neighbors don't sound too surprised to learn that he is suspected of being a serial killer. They describe him as an angry man with a short fuse who one promised a neighbor that he would "deliver a load of death" if he didn't get his dog to stop barking.
He often shouted obscenities around his house and earned the nickname of "Freak" among his neighborhood.
One neighbor said, "This guy just had this anger that was just pouring out of him. He’d just be yelling at nothing in the backyard, pacing in circles." Police say they were able to use new DNA technology to link him to the crimes.
