When it comes to the #MeToo movement, there are some who don’t think women of color are part of the conversation. As we told you, both Thandie Newton and Asia Argento have said that. Asia called it “an exclusive club [and extended feel-good PR opportunity] for Hollywood elites that shuns survivors.” Both of them said it's because they weren't "high profile" enough.
But now Amber Rose is saying the same thing. The way she sees it, Tarana Burke – the Black woman turned the hashtag into a full-blown movement – is getting lost in the sauce. Basically, Amber says that while “rich White women” deserve justice, “don’t leave us out.”
- For the record, Amber – who founded the SlutWalk – isn’t against the movement. But she DOES think it’s not doing anything for women of color.
