Timbaland is set to appear on tonight’s episode of “The Four,” filling in for contestant Sharaya J during The Four’s opening number.
Sharaya is battling breast cancer and has been advised by doctors to save her voice, so she’s sitting out of the opening number so it will be strong for her challenge performance. The group is scheduled to perform Timbaland’s “The Way I Are,” and the hip-hop star, who is good friends with Sharaya’s mentor, Missy Elliott, offered to fill in for her.
“I was very excited to be a guest on ‘The Four’ led by some of the biggest names in music — Puff, Khaled, Meghan Trainor, and Fergie,” Timbaland shares. “I’ve known Sharaya for years and when I heard that she was unable to participate in the group performance, I felt honored to step in.” He adds, “This platform inspires diverse, undiscovered stars to get started in their music careers with the very best.”
