Rescuers have now safely removed five members of a youth soccer team from a cave in Thailand and say rescuing the remaining seven players and their coach could take a while.
The fifth boy was rescued early today and taken to the hospital on a stretcher. Earlier on Sunday, divers were able to lead four other boys through the dark and watery tunnels and eventually out of the two-mile deep cave.
Seven boys, ages 11-to-16, and their 25-year-old coach remain in the cave, where they've been now for more than two weeks. The coach sent a written letter to the parents of the boys apologizing for leading them on the hike into the cave. He wrote, “Right now the kids are all fine, the crew are taking good care. I promise I will care for the kids as best as possible. I want to say thanks for all the support and I want to apologize to the parents." (USA Today)
